Flexible and portable

You can use Portaphase in any room where there is access to single-phase power, which is more readily available than three-phase. And you can move it from one classroom to another quite easily.

Cost effective

It is considerably more cost-effective than wiring a classroom with three-phase power, purchasing a step-down transformer to get ELV and then putting a variac to get variable output. Portaphase complete package does all of this at a fraction of the cost.

Also, the main power supply unit and the distribution units are designed with safety in mind. The output of Portaphase is extra-low voltage or ELV, which substantially reduces the risk of electric shock to trainers and learners; this helps you maintain a safe workplace. Even the cable connectors are unique to this equipment, which means there is no danger of connection to the wrong voltage level.

To get three-phase to a classroom, you will need to do, at least, the following

  • Hire a licensed Electrician
  • Bring three-phase to the classroom
  • Install and wire three-phase socket outlets
  • Install and wire three-phase transformers to reduce the voltage to safer levels
  • Install a single or a three-phase variac to provide variable voltage

Depending on how many outlets you will need, this will cost at least $20,000 or more. Needless to say that the Portaphase costs much less.

Anywhere you have single phase socket outlet, which should be available in almost all classrooms and training facilities.

Portaphase complete package comes with five distribution boxes. If you are training two students per station, then one package will supply power to ten students that are undertaking practical.
