VIDEO TRANSCRIPTION
Electrical power is the rate at which the electrical energy transfer in the electrical circuit and convert into some other form of energy. If I turn this bulb on, this 23.4 water power is converted into light and also heat. If I measure the temperature of this lamb, it’s showing about 30 degree Celsius, I’m going to demonstrate to you the electrical power and also the power factor in each of the electrical element, which is the resistor, the capacitor, and the conductors. Now we can see that this 20 ohm resistor is consuming 6.1 watt through power and drawing 3.55M. The power factor is one, because resistors do not consume reactive power. It only consumes true power.
Now, if I changed this one to the capacitor, which is the 18 microfarad capacitor over here, you can see that it does not consume true power at all, but it’s still drawing 0.3 M and the power factor is 0. Now, if I change this one to the 680 millihenry inductor, you can see that this inductor is actually consuming 0.3 watt of true power and drawing 0.093 M. The power factor is not zero because this inductor actually have internal resistant 18 [inaudible 00:02:22]. That’s why this meter is actually showing the true power over here.
