VIDEO TRANSCRIPT - ON DELAY AND OFF DELAY TIMERS

Husnen Rupani:
Hi. In this video, I’m going to demonstrate the operations of on-delay and off-delay timers. Let’s get started. So, here I’ve got a control circuit prac box, and in this prac box I’ve got these two, multifunction timers. I have programmed this timer is on-delay, and this timer is off-delay, and I’m going to wire them, one by one, and demonstrate its operation. Let’s look at our first circuit that I’m going to connect, so I’m going to connect this on-delay timer circuit onto the multifunction timer in the control circuit prac box, and that is my complete circuit. Let’s see it in action. So, if I turn this switch on, you can see how the pilot lamp comes on, and the LED comes on after the delay, so it’s an on-delay. There is a delay after I turn it on.

Let’s have a look at it again. Turn it off. The timer goes off. Turn that on. The timer starts counting down three, two, one, and that comes on after. Now let’s wire the off-delay circuit and see how that works. This is a circuit that we’re going to wire for our off-delay timer demonstration. Now let’s look at this off-delay in action. So, when I turn this on, you see how both lights turn on at the same time, but when I turn this off, the main light turns off, but the second one has a delay, so that is an off-delay timer. Let’s look at that again. I turn it on, and I can see that my timer is still showing zero, but as soon as I turn it off, my timer starts counting down from five, three, two, one, off. So, those were the demonstrations of on-delay and off-delay timers. If you like these demos, and if you want to use it in your classes, please feel free to do so. Thanks for watching.
