VIDEO TRANSCRIPT - ALTERNATE SUPPLIES BOARD START UP PROCEDURE

Husnen Rupani:
Let me walk you through the startup procedure of this board. To start with, we’ll turn on our simulated solar panel. Now that our simulated solar panel is on, we can go through the startup procedure that’s listed in these two switchboards. Now, what we really have is shutdown procedures. We have a shutdown procedure one, and we have shutdown procedure two, and startup procedure is exactly reverse of both procedures. We’ll start from the last one here, which is, “Turn off battery system isolator,” so in startup, we’ll turn that on. So start that, turning it on. Next is, “Turn off the charger switch.” We have a charger switch here, so we’ll turn that on because we’re going through the startup procedure. Next, “We have turn off PV DC isolator.” In this case, we’ll turn it on. Turn off PV array switch, so we’ll turn that on.

Finally, turn off the inverter switch, so we’ll turn that on. So we’ve completed all the startup steps from the main DC switchboard, and the first step here is, “Follow shutdown procedure 1 in the main AC switchboard,” which means we’ll move over to here. Step number three was, “Follow shutdown procedure two,” which we’ve already done. Let’s go to the next one, which is, “Turn off inverter isolator,” so in this case, we’ll turn it on. The last step is, “Turn off the main switch inverter supply,” so we’ll turn that on. So, that’s basically the startup procedure for the whole system. Let’s turn on the lighting circuit and see how that works. Now, just so you can identify how we’ve turned this whole thing on, we can actually look at some LED indications here. So, this charger is in bulk mode right now. That is taking the power from our simulated solar panel and charging the battery, but at the same time, it’s also sending power to the inverter, which is then sending power to our installation here.
